Scriptures to Memorize

Hey Parents!

Help us teach your kids the Bible. Below is a list of scriptures that we believe would be beneficial for your children to memorize as we start this new year. As an incentive, as they memorize the scriptures they will be rewarded by I-54 Kids.

Scripture List

  • Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

  • John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

  • Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

  • Psalm 119:130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

  • Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness. 

  • Mark 4:14 The sower sows the word.

  • John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

  • Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

  • Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

  • James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

  • Luke 4:4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

  • Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

  • Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 

  • Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  • Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

  • 1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

  • 1 John 4:19 We love each other because He loved us first.

  • 1 John 4:21 And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

  • James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. (CSB)

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Never stop praying. (NLT)

  • 1 John 5:14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. (NLT)

  • 1 John 5:15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. (NLT)

  • 1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (NLT)

IN CHRIST SCRIPTURES

  • 2 Corinthians 5:7 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

  • Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

  • Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

  • Ephesians 2:6 He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, (CSB)

  •  Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (NLT)

  •  Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

  •  Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

  • Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  • Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Recite 1 - 4 scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture

Recite 5 - 6 scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture AND get a free item from the snack bar

Recite 7 - 9 scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture AND get 2 free items from the snack bar

Recite 10+  scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture AND get 2 free itemS from the snack bar AND an item from the treasure chest AND their name in a drawing for at the end of the month.
