Scriptures to Memorize

Hey Parents!

Help us teach your kids the Bible. Below is a list of scriptures that we believe would be beneficial for your children to memorize as we start this new year. As an incentive, as they memorize the scriptures they will be rewarded by I-54 Kids.

Unit and Memory Verses

 

Unit Verse: Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Week 1: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Week 2: Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Week 3: Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Week 4: James 1:22 But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (CSB)

Week 5: Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness. 

Week 6: Mark 4:14 The sower sows the word.

Week 7: Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

Week 8: John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

 

Other scriptures we will use for games

1. Isaiah 54:13 All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace. (NIV)

2. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

3. John 13:15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. (NLT)

4. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

5. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

6. Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

7. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

8. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

9. Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

10. 1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Prizes and Incentives:

Recite 1 - 4 scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture

Recite 5 - 6 scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture AND get a free item from the snack bar

Recite 7 - 9 scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture AND get 2 free items from the snack bar

Recite 10+  scriptures = a piece of candy for each correctly recited scripture AND get 2 free itemS from the snack bar AND an item from the treasure chest AND their name in a drawing for at the end of the month.
